iKee worm, iPhone worm, iPhone iKee worm

there are some fundamental flaws to major description of removing the iKee worm. I believe most people should be affected by the first 3 A,B,C variant.

How to know which variant? If you can find the files in the 1st scenario to delete, then u are having the variant A,B,C.

U would need to install Terminal using cydia in order to access the following functions.

Scenario A
Step 1: Giving urself root access to delete the files
su root
(default password: alpine)

Step 2: commands are all Case-SeNsiTivE
Variants A-C store files in these directories, so you have to remove them, using the rm command. (a successful delete would be that no response is given. If a prompt is indicated that file does not exist, then delete would have failed, usually cos of mis-typing)


rm /bin/poc-bbot
rm /bin/sshpass
rm /var/log/youcanbeclosertogod.jpg
rm /var/mobile/LockBackground.jpg (or /var/mobile/Library/LockBackground.jpg)
rm /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.ikey.bbot.plist
rm /var/lock/bbot.lock

Then, reboot the phone and change your password and re-install SSH.

Scenario B

Step1: Giving urself root access to delete the files
su root
(default password: alpine)


Step2: Commands are Case-SeNsiTivE
For variant D, remove the following files in these directories:

rm /usr/libexec/cydia/startup
rm /usr/libexec/cydia/startup.so
rm /usr/libexec/cydia/startup-helper
rm /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.saurik.Cydia.Startup.plist

Reinstall Cydia.
Remember to change your root password!

as im organising the remainder of my work stuff for the past 1 and half years to be consolidated for reporting to the reviewing committee, i realise how much i have done..
